Esther and Alois Hübscher lived at 1118 - 1st Avenue in New York after they arrived in America, where Alois made and sold neckties before his death. This trade was passed on to his daughters, who opened up "Five Ladies Necktie Works" in Baltimore by 1900. Esther died at 4:00 PM on May 24, 1893 of fatty degeneration of the heart and dilatation, and was buried with Alois in Washington Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. In less than six years after reaching America, Esther and Alois had both died at the age of 56. According to Esther's death certificate, she was born in Bohemia Austria, and her parents were Bernard and Anna Bauer, both born in Austria (The Austrian Empire)
