Esther Juliana (Abrahams) Julian - Johnston [Convict "Prince of Wales" "Lady Penrhyn" 1788]

Esther ABRAHAMS was convicted of stealing 24 years of black silk lace and was sentenced for 7 years transportation. She arrived in Sydney Cove on "Lady Penrhyn" on 26/1/1788. Her 6 month old daughter Rosanna came with her.

By May 1789 she was living with George JOHNSTON although they did not marry until 12/11/1814 after having 7 children together.

In the 1828 census she is described as Protestant, although other accounts state she was jewish by birth.
