Florence Ellen Mellersh

At 1861 census Florence Ellen (1 month old) was living in Sherwood, Nottingham, with her parents, brother & sister, her mother's niece Louisa E Sargent (age 15, born in Worksop, Notts), and servant Hannah Taylor (age 17). By 1876 the Parker family had moved from Nottingham to Fulham, Middlesex. By August 1882, the Parkers were at: [Hermitage Lodge] 69 Lillie Road, Fulham, Middlesex. On 31 August 1882, Florence married Frederick Mellersh (a boy next door). By 1891 Florence was living at 34 Nicoll Road, Harlesdon, London, NW, and was still there in 1901 with the family [nearby at no 38 were George C & Annie E Parker]. Later they moved to St Albans, Hertfordshire, initially "Sherley," Clarence Road, and by the 1911 census to "Bridlemere," 31 Clarence Road. Soon after the start of the First World War in 1914, Frederick, Florence and their household accepted a Belgian refugee and her baby into their house ("Bridlemere") in St. Albans: Madame Maria Louwage and her infant daughter Vivienne (b 1912). [Husband & father Monsieur Florent Louwage, a senior police officer, much later after WW2 became head of Interpol.] At 1939 register: "Bridlemere," 31 Clarence Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire (with husband Frederick, dtr Winifred, sister Annie & 2 servants).
