Sister Winnie was “delicate” too. Muriel particularly looked after her two brothers (Eric & Harold) as they were a lot younger. Muriel enjoyed tennis and cycling. The Mellersh family had a season booking of a tennis court in Clarence Park [laid out in 1894] in St Albans, used especially by themselves, the Hughesdons and the Chubbs. Muriel’s hobbies were gardening and reading. For some years, Muriel was a teacher, at a girls’ boarding school [name?],at Rippingale, Bolsover Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex (including the 1911 census on 02 April, age 27).
