Florence May KNOWLES (69) was born Jan.1867 in Livermore, Iowa, the daughter of Abram Henry Knowles and Adeline Collins Knowles. Her parents were early pioneer Quakers. She was raised as a Quaker, but when she married Percy Charles ROWE, she converted to the Presbyterian faith and attended the Lake Park, IA Presbyterian Church. She was active in church, circles and community affairs. She married on Oct. 24, 1889 in Livermore, Iowa to PERCY AUGUSTUS ROWE, and both attended the Presbyterian Church in Lake Park, IA, where later her grandson, Ralph E. Rowe, was first made the decision to be a minister

. Her husband was a farmer. She and her husband adopted an orphan train boy, Willie Selley who survived them both.

Florence died in her home in Hurdland, MO outside of Kirksville, MO where they had moved from Lake Park, Iowa in 1920. A hurst brought her body back to Lake Park Presbyterian Church for burial services. She is buried in Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park , Iowa.
