"He was married at the age of thirty-two years for the first time by the Reverend Mr.Peter Bulkeley, Rector at Odell, Bedfordshire on 7 Apr 1616 to Frances Paxton.Preliminary search has not disclosed her parentage, or any explanation for the wedding in Bedfordshire...A Paxton family owned a manor house at Barton Hartshornefive miles north of Marsh Gibbon."

It appears that this lovely lady came over age 54 or so on a ship circa 1637 ( I have not been able to determine which ship) with her husband and their 7 children aged 9 to 19.

According to "A Genealogy of the Family of Richard Howell of Mattituck, Southold Town Long Island, New York to Seven Generations" Compiled by Thomas H. Donnelly, Margaret's first husband was John Howell and second, William Hallock.

Richard Howell of Southold, Long Island. Step-father was William Hallock. In 1675 William Hallock deeded land to Richard Howell. 2nd wife Elizabeth Harrud.

Father was John Howell and mother was Margaret who married William Hallock after John Howell died.

I believe Richard Howell's mother to be Margaret Yonges (Youngs) daughter to Rev. Christopher Youngs and Margaret Elwin/Elivin and sister of Rev. John Youngs, founder of Southold L.I.
