Theological Hall Dunedin 1947-49 Post-graduate study at University of St Andrew's, Scotland, graduated PhD. with a dessertation supervised by Professor Baillie. St Andrew's later conferred upon him the Honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity. Ordained St Andrews Canterbury SCP 31.7.1952 "He placed a great deal of empahasis on the parish functioning as a community and not merely as a collection of individuals" Director of Theological Studies at Theological Hall of the Presbyterian Church of Western Australia, Perth March 1955 Appointed as Principal in 1958. "Here, although he had some part-time assistance, he was responsible for all branches of theological study and training for the ministry."
