• A Frederick/Fred Daniel is listed as one of the children of James Cahill on both James Cahill's immigration record and death certificate.
• There is a record on Ancestry24.com for the baptism of a Frederick Daniel of unknown surname,which gives the names of his parents as James and Catherine Cahill. The source is St. Francis Simon's Town Baptisms (1813 - 1932). The information listed here is based on that record (see Sources above or http://ancestry24.com/search-item/?id=C2150134275).
• The name of this ancestor and several descendants is spelt variously as 'Frederic' and 'Frederick in different records, so the spelling is uncertain. However, given the family's English ancestry, the spelling 'Frederick' is presumed to be more likely.
• A list of descendants of Frederick Daniel Cahill (see Sources above) was supplied on 21 October 2013 by Alta le Roux, Le Roux Dorpshuis/Townhouse Museum, Hoogstraat 146 High Street, OUDTSHOORN, 6625 (lerdorpshuis@mweb.co.za). The date and place of death given here are based on this document (the Dorpshuis Document), as well as on Frederick Daniel's death certificate (see Sources).
• Three individuals by the name of Frederick Daniel Cahill in the SA National Archives, presumably father, son and grandson. Wills and death notices indicate that their dates of death were 1861, 1903 and 1954 respectively, so it's unclear as to how Frederick Daniel (d. 1899) fits in.

Additional Notes Another Frederick Daniel Cahill, presumably related to the family in some way was born in 1932 and died in 1952 See "South Africa, Cape Province, Civil Deaths, 1895-1972", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2QM-V7PG : 24 June 2016), Frederick Daniel Cahill, 1952. He was single and 19 years old and died of Carbon Monoxide poisoning after a house fire.
