Gadi West served as a Private in De Clouet's Regiment for LA in War of 1812 and if this is him it would mean he was more likely born in 1796 CENSUS: The 1835 census of Texas, taken by the Mexican government, lists Tabitha in the household of her father Gadi West. There were 6 children listed. The Mexican gov. required the maiden name of the wife to be listed, therefore we know Gadi's wife name. Stelle, has this day bargained, sold and conveyed for the sum of Three Hundred and fifty Dollars all of a tract or parcel of land lying and being in the State of Louisiana, in Sabine Parish, on Sandy Creek, and formerly owned by Gadi West, and A. N. McCarson, containing forty acres and nine hundreths of an acre, bounded as follows, To-wit: the southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section (26) in Township Number (3) of Range NO.
