One researcher writes: "Tabitha A South is the daughter of Benjamin South and Elizabeth Anna.
She was born 1767 in Natchez, Natchitoches, Louisiana, USA.
She died 1825 in St Tammany, Louisiana, USA. Littleberry West and Tabitha A South. Their marriage Abt. 1786 (Natchez District, Spanish Louisiana).
They had 11 children.
" My problem with this is that most researchers claim birth dates for Benj. and Elizabeth as being only about 13-15 years older than Tabitha.
I don't believe they are her parents; it has not been proven if her last name is truly "South".
Her death date is uncertain; her last child was born in 1810. She is presumed to be on the 1820 Census with Littleberry and many children. Littleberry remarried in 1826 giving a time frame between 1820-1826.
