George was baptised 19 May 1592 at Easton, Wiltshire, the son of George Browne and Jone his wife. [1]
George Browne married Christian Hibbert on 30 September 1611 in St. Edmunds Church, Salisbury, Wiltshire County, England. (p. 70) [2] [3][4]
1618/9: Jan. 9: Marie Abbott of Salisbury, England, widow, left 2 shillings apiece to Richard, Daniel, and George Browne. She also mentions her grandchildren named Dove, and directs that she be buried in St. Edmund's church. [2]
It appears from his estate inventory that he was a brewer by trade. [2]
George died at Wiltshire England and was buried there on Oct. 29, 1633. [5]
In his will he left bequests to:
- wife Christian, executrix, half of his estate
- elder son Henry 20 shillings
- son William 20 shillings at the age of 21.
- son George 5 pounds
- son Abraham 5 pounds.
- The remaining half of his estate to sons Henry and William.
- The legacies to sons George and Abraham to be delivered to "my Master Francis Dove, for the benefit of my said two sons."
- Overseers Mr. John Dove and Francis Dove. [2]
His estate inventory taken by William Gardner and John Martin, weaver, amounted to 30 pounds, 1 shilling. [2]
After his death, widow Christian Browne, joined a group of fellow parishioners, under the guidance of Francis Dove, to embark from Salisbury in 1638 and to found a 'new Salisbury' in New England. [2]
She arrived in New England in 1638/9, with three sons, Henry, William and George, but died shortly thereafter on Dec. 28, 1641. [2] [6]

Notes
The george Browns family were the ones responsible for giving the name Sa lisbury to that Massachussetts town in memory of Salisbury England. George Brown died just bedfore his wife & sons left for New England as a result of this CHRISTIAN HIBBERT Brown was given lots in the 1st division in Salisbury Mass the 1st & only woman in New England history to do so.
Marriage to Christian Hibbert: (1a) Christian. (2) Christian Hibbert, 30 Sep 1611, parish church of St. Edmund's Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, at which time they made an offering of 3 shillings. Death: (1a) 1633, Salisbury, England. (2) Will dtd 22 Aug 1633, proved 8 Nov 1633 in the Perogative Court of Canterbury. George was "of the Citty of New Sarum in the countye of Wilts." Inventory dtd 6 Nov 1633.

(2) 1633, 22 Aug: Wrote his will. Left to his elder son Henry 20 shillings. Left to sone William 20 shillings at the age of 21. Left to son Georg 5 pounds. Left to son Abraham 5 pounds. Legacies to sons George and Abraham to be delivered to "my Master Francis Dove, for the benefit of my said two sons." "One half of all my goodes and ymplements of household stuff wth the lease of the tenemts which I hold from the Chabr (Chamber) of the Cittye aforesaid (New Sarum in the county of Wilts.) to my two eldest sons Henry and William. The other half and ought else that I have unbequeathed to my welbeloved wife Christian, whom I make executrix. Overseers, my masters and good friends Mr. John Dove and Francis Dove."

The village was the location of Easton Priory from 1234 to 1536. The village mistakenly gained the Royal suffix in 1838 and the name Easton Royal has been in general use since the 1850s.[2
