GEORGE BRUMBAUGH is thought to be born in 1760 in Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland, the son of Johannes Brumbaugh and Anna Juliana Kemper. Both Family Search and Find A Grave give the same unsourced DOB, 9 Sep 1760. This information is evidently incorrect, since German birth records indicate that he was born in Westphalia in 1755. Johann Georg Brumbach, son of Johannes and Maria Elisabeth Brumbach, was born 19 Aug 1755 in Bockenbach, Westfalen, Prussia, and chr 24 Aug 1755 in Krombach, Westfalen, Prussia. He probably migrated to America with his older brother Conrad, arriving at Philadelphia on 7 Oct 1765 aboard the
