About George James Kerwood
George James Kerwood was baptised on the 18 Mar 1800 in Chichester, Sussex, England, the son of Joseph and Benedicta Kerwood. He married Maria Parsons on the 28 Jul 1832 at Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England. With her and their children, Richard, Sarah Sabina and Ann Maria they emigrated to South Australia boarding the vessel "Morley" on the 8th of December 1839 and arriving on the 16th April 1839. He was a bricklayer and stonemason and they last resided at Regent Street, Kensington, South Australia where he died on the 12th September 1884 followed by Maria on the 14th only 4 days later. George was 84 and Maria was 91 years of age at death.
