George Sneddon Semple was born on June 21, 1908 to parents, John Semple (1879-1941) and Jeanie Hampton (Sneddon) Semple (1881-1959), at Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. He married Marion Ferguson. Their children were Henry "Harry" Semple (1901-1973) and Helen "Nell or Nellie" (Semple) Meikle (1904-1940). He died in 1978 at 70 years old. He was cremated at Brigg in East Yorkshire and his ashes were scattered there.
