Henry Semple was born on November 27, 1901 to parents, John Semple (1879-1941) and Jeanie Hampton (Sneddon) Semple (1881-1959) in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. Henry was the brother of George Sneddon Semple (1908-1978) and Helen (Semple) Meikle (1904-1940). He became known as "Harry".
He married Martha Lockhart from Carbon Hill, Alabama, USA. Their children were John Semple; Martha (Semple) McCully; James Nicol Lockhart Semple; Henry (Harry) Semple; Joseph (Joe) Semple; George (Geordie) Semple; Jeannie Hampton Sneddon Semple Felton and Douglas (Dougie) Stewart Haddon Semple.
On 8 March 1973, Henry "Harry" Semple, aged 71 years, died with interment in Stonehouse Cemetery, Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK.
