About Gerald "Dugan" Strom, Sr.
Gerald Dugan Strom, 46, of 35 Pershing Road, Queensbury, N.Y., formerly of Galesburg, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 1996, at Glen Falls Hospital in Glen Falls, N.Y.
Born Aug. 24, 1950, in Galesburg to Gerald and Beatrice Bainbridge Strom, he married Kay Arlene Clausen on Oct. 26, 1969, in Bellevue, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Gerald Dugan Strom Jr., and one daughter, Sarah Kay Strom, both at home; four brothers, Jack Strom of Galesburg, Jan Strom of London Mills, Jon Scott Strom of Wataga and Ted Dawson of Clinton, Iowa; and two sisters, Mary Jo Johnson of Galesburg and Carol Horstman of Bagley, Wis.
He worked for Warren Achievement Center in Monmouth for several years. He then was executive director at Warren/Washington A.R.C. in Queensbury, N.Y. He attended Carl Sandburg College and then Western Illinois University. A 1969 graduate of Southern Illinois University, he received a master's degree in rehabilitation administration.
He was a member of Galesburg Alpha Masonic Lodge 155, AF&AM. He was an Air Force veteran.
Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville.
