Gerrit 'Bill' Myburgh (1934 - 2013)

Brief overview:

Gerrit (79) a retired Police Commissioner.

He was hogtied by his hands and feet, repeatedly tortured with a hot Iron, and an entire kettle of boiling water was used on him. Then he was strangled with his own clothes. The SAPS did not register this torture-death as a hate crime under the Rome Convention ratified by South Africa: they are only Investigating an ordinary murder and housebreaking case.

5 August 2013 Christiaan Cloete of Heldelberg/Nigel Herald reports that retired police commissioner Gerrit Bill Myburgh 79 suffered terribly at the hands of cruel black male attackers. Thus far only his gardener was taken in for questioning, however. The torture gang, described as 'robbers ', hogtied the old police officer by his hands and feet, tortured him with a hot iron, and a kettle of boiling water. Then he was strangled to death with his own clothes. The torture murder committed on Myburgh's smallholding in Boschfontein on 4th August 2013 police believe.SAPS captain Thivulavi Tshilote said the 'robbery' could have occurred between 9pm and the next morning.The gang escaped in Myburgh's black Mazda 3 and tore his registered firearms safe, containing a 12 bore shotgun, a .22 pistol and a .22 rifle, from the wall and dragged It with them.
