16 February 1667: Extract Decreet in action at the instance of Sir John Neisbit of Dirletoun, knight, H.M. Advocate, and Sir William Purves of Woodhowslie, knight, H.M. solicitor, against Gilbert Kennedy, now of Garvanemaynes, heir to deceased Hugh Kennedy, his father decerning said Gilbert to make payment of the avails of said Gilbert's marriage due from the £6 land of Dalquharrane, 40s. land of Drumochrein, £18 land of Daljarbrie Chang and Cairne, Knokchine, Docherneill, Barbae and Gleeks, in sheriffdom of Ayr National Records of Scotland, Kennedy of Dalquharran, reference GD27/1/180

29 September 1669: Extract Registered Marriage Contract between John Kennedy of Knockdaw on the one part and Gilbert Kennedy of Girvanmaines and Margaret Kennedy, his daughter, on the other part by which said Gilbert dispones to said John and Margaret the £10 land of Girvanmains, in bailiary of Carrick and sheriffdom of Ayr, reserving the liferent to Marion Kennedy, Lady Girvanmaines and said John Kennedy of Knockdaw binds himself to infeft said Margaret in his £20 land of Knockdaw and Conrie during her mother's lifetime said Gilbert further dispones to John and Margaret the 9 merk land of Dalwharran and others in the bailiary of Carrick and sheriffdom of Ayr, and the £10 land of Slaedonnald, in parish of Kirkcowan and sheriffdom of Wigtown. 22 August 1685: Charge at the instance of Hugh Cathcart of Carletoun, against Sir Gilbert Kennedy of Girvanmains, son and apparent heir to deceased Sir John Kennedy of Girvanmains, grandson and apparent heir to deceased David Kennedy of Knockdaw and deceased Gilbert Kennedy of Girvanmains and apparent heir to deceased John Kennedy of Drummortoun, his granduncle charging him to enter as heir to his predecessors.
