Gladys Alberta Osburn

Obituary: Gladys Alberta Osburn, 79, formerly of Coeur d'Alene, died Monday, Sept 16, 1991 at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.

She was born April 4, 1912, in Kinsley, Kan. to Bryon and Blanche (Warner) Roberts. She was raised in Kansas and Colorado, attending high school in Johnson, Kan. On Oct 20, 1929, she married Robert Osburn in Lakin, Kan. They made their home in Kansas and Colorado before moving to Montana in 1938. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1957 and owned and operated the Craft and Hobby Shop on Sherman Ave. until 1976. She was active throughout those years demonstrating and teaching craft classes. After her husband's death in 1985, she moved to Wenatchee, Wash, to be with her daughter.

Survivors include sons Robert L Osburn of Kent, Wash, and Gary C Osburn of Moses Lake, Wash; daughters Dixie Lee Weber of Lac La Hache, B.C., and Irene O Potter of Wenatchee, Wash; brothers Floyd Roberts of Karval, Colo, and Murrel Roberts of Aurora, Colo; sister Darline Merwin of La Junta, Colo; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Lake Chapel 373 E Hayden Ave. with Pastor Jerry Horgan officiating. Burial will follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=64564574
