Graaf Gerhard II van Loon

Gerard II participated in the third crusade under emperor Frederico Barbarossa, king Philippe Auguste of France, and king Richard the Lionheat of England. He died in the siege of Acco in 1194. His body has been interred in the abbey of Herkenrode.

Parti à la croisade avec Barberousse, Philippe Auguste et Richard Coeur de Lion, il fut tué à la bataille d'Acre.

Gérard de Looz eut trois fils.

Louis II, l'ainé, régna sur le Comté de 1191 à sa mort, empoisonné, fin juillet 1218.

Son marriage avec Ada Comtesse de Hollande resta sans enfants.

Son frère cadet, Gérard, étant décédé avant lui ne laissant que des enfants trop jeunes, le comté revint à son plus jeune frère, Henri.
