Shirly Robinson Pizziferri’s article “Converse Reverse? The wives of Jonathan Newhall and Ebenezer Thompson”, New Eng. Hist. Gen. Reg. 146 (1992), 133–134, shows that Hannah, the wife of Ebenezer Thomas, was the daughter of Robert Converse while Hannah, the wife of Jonathan Newhall, was the daughter of Josiah Converse.

On 27 Sep 1728 when Hannah was 22, she married Capt. Ebenezer Thompson (24014) , son of Jonathan Thompson (28 Sep 1663-25 May 1748) & Frances Whitmore (9169) (3 Mar 1671-). Born on 30 Mar 1701 in Woburn, MA. Ebenezer died in Woburn, MA ca 1755.

Children of Ebenezer & Hannah (Converse) Thompson, born at Woburn:

  • i. Benjamin Thompson (27 Nov 1729-7 Nov 1755)
  • ii. Ebenezer Thompson, b. 15 Sep 1731;
  • iii. Hannah Thompson, b. 21 Sep 1734; and
  • iv. Hiram Thompson, b. 17 May 1743.

An important point is that Ebenezer Tompson's will dated Apr 1755 names his brother <in-law?> Ebenezer Convers as an executor of his estate, as well as his wife, who appears to have died between the initial will dated Apr 1755, and the Administration documents dated Sep 1755

Fourth daughter born to Capt. Robert Converse and Mary 1 May 1706 in Woburn, MA, per Woburn records of births, deaths, marriages, and marriage intentions, from 1640 to 1900 / Alphabetically and chronologically arranged by Edward F. Johnson, page 57.

She was mentioned in her father's will, and given money, along with her seven sisters, and only surviving brother (Ebenezer). Dec 17 1737 inventory signatures (p. 430 of account papers. Massachusetts, US. Wills and Probate Records):
Mary Convers <widow>
Ebenezer Convers <son>
Josiah Simonds <husband of daughter Elizabeth Convers>
Isaac Snow <husband of daughter Esther Convers>
Ebenezer Tomson <husband of daughter Hannah Convers>
Daniel Reed Junior <husband of daughter Mary Convers>
Ann Convers <daughter>

  • the only signator left of age would be Sarah
