Although Gysbert Lubbertsen and Elizabeth Thomas were married for 20 years, only four children[8] could be found in New Jersey and Long Island records, as enumerated below:
1d. The fourth child was Harmon Gysbertsen. This sounds like an English Christian (biblical) name, but more probably is a variation on the Dutch name Herman. It appears that Harmon was born on Long Island, and named after his grandmother’s second husband Herman/Harmon Eduarz (his second marriage as well).
