About Harvey Witherite Shope
Harvey Witherite Shope, retired millwright of the Spring Creek Lumber company, died last night at 10 o'clock at the home of his son, H. C. Shope, 1301 Fourth avenue, Juniata.
Born January 21, 1862, at Milesburg, Centre county, he was the son of David Daniel and Nancy (Martin) Shope. His wife, Keturah Shope, preceded him in death September 3, 1934.
Members of the family include one daughter, Mrs. W. A. Pensyl of Altoona; three sons, R. M. Shope of Caldwell, West Virginia; H. C. Shope at whose home he died and W. E. Shope, Newark, New Jersey; two brothers, F. L. Shope, of Milesburg, and U. G. Shope, Clarksburg, West Virginia, and one sister, Mrs. W. A. Murray of Williamsport.
Mr. Shope was a member of the Methodist church of Second Creek, West Virginia, and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Craneyville, Maryland.
Friends will be received at the Mock and Yates funeral home in Juniata after noon Tuesday.
