"Hendrick Hendrickson b 1636 md. Jane Luitgirt. Though he prospered at home, yet he sold his property with his wife and household goods he crossed the ocean to the new world and bought a farm at Flatlands L.I. He sailed in the ship Rosetta and landed at New Amsterdam in March 1663. In 1664 his name is found as a soldier enrolled under Gov. Peter Stuyvesant who resisted the English occupation of New Amsterdam. To this union 2 sons were born, Hendrick and Daniel"

On 28-Nov-1677, Hendrick WILLEMSZ, being ill, made his will in Albany at the house of Teunis SLINGERLANDT, and made certain provisions for the minor "children of the late Jan van ESCKELEN, procreated by Gysseltie ALBERTS", releasing the guardians of the children (Albert Andriesz BRAT and Storm vander ZEE) and sureties (Jan Albertsz BRAT and Heyndrick LANSINGH) from an arrangement that had been made 2-Jul-1764 (American Genealogist) (GETTY).
