Biography
Henriette Pelletret was born about 1641 in Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Simon Pelletret (abt. 1610–abt. 1645) and Perrine Bourg (abt. 1626–aft. 1693).[1]
Henriette (18) married Pierre Doucet (38) (born about 1621 in Sedan, Champagne, France; son of Unknown Doucet and Unknown Bourg), and nephew of Germain Doucet, in 1660 in Port-Royal, Acadie.[1][2] Their known children were:[3][1]

Toussaint Doucet (1663–bef. 1733) .
Jean Doucet (abt. 1665–abt. 1752) .
Pierre Doucet (1667–1730) .
Madeleine Doucet (abt. 1671–bef. 1740) .
Louis Doucet (abt. 1674–abt. 1765) .

In the first Acadian census in 1671, Pierre was listed as a mason, 50 years of age, and Henriette was 31 years of age. They owned 7 cattle, 6 sheep and 4 arpents of cultivated land. There were 5 children in the household, age 3 months to 10 years.[4] In the same census, Henriette was also counted in her father-in-law's household (René Landry) at age 30.
They continued to raise their children and tend their farm in Port-Royal as shown in the census of 1678.[5]
In 1686, at Port Royal, Henriette PELTRET [sic], aged 40, was living with her husband, Pierre DOUCET, aged 55 [recte 65], and their nine children: Toussaints [sic], aged 23, Jean, aged 20, Pierre, aged 18, Magdelaine [sic], aged 16, Louis, aged 12, Jeanne [recte Louise], aged 10, Pierre [recte Rene], aged 8, Marguerite, aged 6, and Mathieu, aged 1. The family owned 2 guns and was living on 5 arpents of cultivable land with 8 cattle, 12 sheep, and 6 hogs.[6]
Henriette died before the 1693 census since Pierre was listed as a widower around 72 years of age. There were only 3 children counted in the family home.[7][1]
DNA. Jeanne Pelletret's mother was Perinne Bourg. The Mothers of Acadia Maternal DNA project is conducting ongoing research to verify their origins. In 2010, Stephen White reported that Perrine Bourg had an H14 haplogroup. I don't know the details re how many of her descendants were tested to support this report. Ongoing test results are also reported here. As of May 2014, 9 descendants have consistently reported an H haplogroup, indicating European origins.
