Se maria à Port-Royal en 1640 mais le nom de l'épouse est inconnue. Eut avec elle un fils, Germain (1641) épousa Marie Landry, fille de René et Perrine Bourg. Tout porte à croire qu'en 1656 Pierre est retourné à Québec. On croit que c'est là qu'il perdit sa première femme. Retourna à Port-Royal quelques années plus tard. Pierre est le fils de Germain Doucet dit LaVerdure, le major de D'Aulnay, arrivé en Acadie vers 1639...

L'unique ancêtre des Doucet, Germain Doucet dit Laverdure naissait vers 1595, en la paroisse de Conflans-en-Brye, en Champagne, région et ancienne province française de l'Est du bassin parisien.

L'aïeul épousa Marie Bourgeois, avant 1621 ; deux enfants virent le jour grâce à cette union, un fils, Pierre en 1621 et une fille, Marguerite-Louise en 1630.

L'ancêtre arrivait en Acadie en 1632, à la Hèvre, avec le commandant Isaac de Razilly. Un document de l'époque, daté du 14 juillet 1640, stipulait qu'il était le bras droit du gouverneur d'Acadie, Charles de Menou d'Aulnay de Charnizay ; on lui attribua le titre de capitaine d'armes de Pentagouet et il participa à la guerre contre les Bostonnais.

En 1654, Port-Royal dut se rendre pour une première fois aux Anglais ; Germain retourna forcément en France, mais son fils Pierre put rester en Acadie. C'est donc lui et son épouse Henriette Peletret qui se chargèrent de perpétuer la lignée des Doucet en Amérique.

Pierre ainsi que les Acadiens décidés à rester et à tenir bon se concentrèrent dans la vallée de la rivière Dauphin ; les soldats d'Albin n'osèrent jamais les relancer jusque là. Ils y construisirent même une église appelée la chapelle de St-Laurent.

Il semblerait que les Doucet battirent des records notariaux, trois d'entre eux furent successivement en poste pendant 113 ans : on retrouve dans les archives du palais de justice de Montréal, l'étude du notaire Théodore Doucet, admis à la profession de 1867 à 1917, il signa 44,583 actes ; son père, Benjamin-Théodore a pratiqué de 1839 à 1867, il signa 28,558 actes ; son grand-père, Nicolas-Benjamin, de 1804 à 1855, signa 30,754 actes, pour un total très appréciable de 103,895 actes.

After the capture ofPort-Royal by Sedgewick in 1654, his father Germain, who was Commanderof the garrison at Port-Royal, had to return to France with all theofficers and soldiers. In 1655, Pierre made a trip to Québec with hisson Germain, to find the parents of his late wife that they might takecare of his son. Germain stayed at Québec for several yearsbeforereturning to Acadia. As for Pierre, he returned to Acadia either thesame year or the year after. After the capture ofPort-Royal by Sedgewick in 1654, his father Germain, who was Commanderof the garrison at Port-Royal, had to return to France with all theofficers and soldiers. In 1655, Pierre made a trip to Quebec with hisson Germain, to find the parents of his late wife that they might takecare of his son. Germain stayed at Quebec for several yearsbeforereturning to Acadia. As for Pierre, he returned to Acadia either thesame year or the year after. In 1660, Pierre Doucet married Henriette Pelletret, daughter of SimonPelletret and Perrine Bourg. Henriette was 20 years old, and Pierrewas 39 years. She was born at Port-Royal in 1640. She was only fouryears old when her father died, and the following year her motherremarried Rene Landry the Elder.

Pierre Doucet bio Pierre Doucet was brought to Port Royal by his father in 1632. He married an Indian girl in 1640, and had one son Germain born in 1641. Acadia had fallen under English Rule and they fled to Quebec in 1655, where it is presumed she died. Pierre and his son Germain returned to Port Royal in 1660, where he married for a second time to Henriette Peltret, a 20 year old girl. In the 1671 census of Acadia, he is registered as a stone mason with five children, seven horned cattle, six sheep, and four acres of cultivated land. In 1686 census, he is registered as having nine children, eight horned cattle, twelve sheep, six pigs, five acres of cultivated land, and two guns. In the 1698 census he is registered as a widower, age 80. He had 12 cows, 8 oxen or bull, 5 pigs, 16 acres of cultivated land, 40 fruit trees, and 1 gun. He and Henriette had a total of eleven children. He died at Port Royal on June 1, 1713 at the age of 92.
