He was granted lands in Wethersfield in 1658, and aquired quite an estate later on, and became a citizen of influence and ability, filling the town offices, and being elected deputy to the General Assembly in 1667.

Notes
- from Henry BUCK (1626-1712) Wethersfield, CT 2004
To my knowledge the parents of Henry BUCK (abt 1626 to 7 Jul 1712) who married Elizabeth CHURCHILL (1642-aft 1730) remain unknown. Unfortunately there are places such as the LDS Ancestral File and some of the online databases that give highly unreliable information and tend to lead well-meaning people astray.
It is known that Emmanuel/Enoch BUCK and Henry BUCK had a sister Grace BUCK (abt 1623/4-1703) who married John RYLEY or RILEY (d. 1679) abt 1645 and had 8 Ryley children -- John, Joseph, Jonathan, Mary, Grace, Sarah, Jacob and Isaac. The two spellings of the name seem to be used qinterchangeably.
Hopefully, some day, a good researcher will be able to do onsite research in England and find the roots of this interesting family. As I mentioned in another posting this afternoon, Cornelius Harvey writes that he believes this branch may be from County Norfolk in England.

Note: There is no evidence that Henry Buck was the son of William Buck-155 and Margaret Neave-4. They should NOT be connected as parents and child. Thank you.
Biography
Henry Buck was born about 1626, location unknown.[1]
The first known record of Henry was at Wethersfield in 1658 when he was given land for his blacksmith shop on the common near the Cove and a house.[1]
He married Elizabeth Churchill 31 Oct 1660 at Wethersfield, Connecticut per Torrey in "New England Marriages to 1700".[2] The couple supposedly had these children:
- Henry Buck
- Samuel Sgt. Buck
- Elizabeth Buck
It is possible that Henry Buck was the brother of Emanuel Buck of Wethersfield.[1]
A "Henry Buck" was named in the 28 Mar 1678 will of his grandmother, Elizabeth (Deming) Welles as "overseer" along with Mr. John Deming.[3] However, this Elizabeth was born in 1595 so it is impossible for Henry Buck born in 1626 to be her grandson. The most logical explanation is that Henry Buck was her grandson-in-law i.e. married to her grand-daughter Elizabeth Churchill (the daughter of Elizabeth Foote & Josiah Churchill; Elizabeth Foote being the daughter of Elizabeth Deming & her first husband Nathaniel Foote) but described as grandson, a reasonable explanation since son-in-laws were often described as "son" (and the same for daughters-in-law).
Henry died in July 1712 at Wethersfield, Connecticut, age 86 years.[1]
