Twin of Samuel
Birth: Jan. 25, 1630 Berry Pomeroy Devon, England Death: Aug. 15, 1718 Springfield Hampden County Massachusetts, USA
Henry was a sea captain, also served 7 years in the Royal Navy. He died in Springfield, but had his body shipped back to Paignton, Devonshire for burial-- odd at first glance because his parents were bur in the New World. However the note I have on his gf is "Paignton, Devonshire, buried at sea"-- so perhaps the Royal Naval connection took precedence for him.

Burial: Body buried at sea Specifically: Henry served in the Royal Navy, as did his grandfather. Paignton is right on the coast, which also makes sense.

29 Lucie Chapin (Mrs. Thomas F. Hayward). Born in White Post, Clarke Co., Virginia. Descendant of Samuel Chapin, of Massachusetts, through the Revolutionary ancestor, Benjamin Chapin, of Connecticut and Virginia, as follows:
Samuel Chapin (Wales-1675) came to New England, about 1635. He was probably first in Roxbury, but took the freemans oath in Boston, June 2, 1641. In 1642 he removed to Springfield, Mass., where in 1652 he was appointed magistrate, an office he held for many years. He was commissioner and selectman, was much employed in public business, a useful and highly esteemed man, and a deacon in the church. A statue, The Puritan, by St. Gaudens, has been erected to his memory in Springfield, Mass
