"Herbert Greenwood Steel (born 1845). Herbert Greenwood Steel never married. At the time of the 1901 census he was aged 55 and living on his own means at a boarding house at 2 New Burlington Street, London. At the time of his death in 1907 he was staying at Talgarth Hall, Machynlleth, north Wales, the home of his brother Henry: † Herbert Greenwood Steel died at Talgarth Hall, Machynlleth, north Wales at the age of 62 on 23 June 1907 and was buried at St Sepulchre’s Cemetery on 26 June (burial recorded in the parish register of St Giles’s and probably also Ss Philip & James’s Church). His effects came to £209 14s. 1d., and his executor was his widowed sister Mrs Matilda Nettleship. His probate records gave his address as the Oriental Club, Hanover Square.
