Hester Ann Harris parents were Rowland Harris b. 1808, Mary Walters B. 1809. Hester married Seymour Rhode in Warren Co. Indiana 10 April 1854. He was a widower of Sarah Fincher, with two sons William & Caleb Rhode, who Hester raised. Four more children to follow. Mary Rhode 1854-1882, Ivan Rhode 1857-1924, Rachel Rhode 1859-1949, Emma Rhode 1862-1930.This family lived in IL, Iowa, NE. Seymour died in Vernon Co. Missouri abt.1865. May 10, 1867 Hester married 2nd Hiram John Yancey Jr., children: Alfred Franklin Yancey 1870-1954, Eddie 1873-died as a child, George W. Yancey 1876-1943, Etta Mae Yancey 1878-1962. Hiram & Hester Yancey moved to Lander Co. Nevada abt 1873, from 1880-90 lived in MO, Iowa,Ks. In 1890 moved to Fairbury, Jefferson, Nebraska. This area became home for them and some of the children for years to come. Hiram & Hester did live in Independence MO 1912 where Hiram passed away 1912. Hester then returned to Fairbury, Ne.
