His 1835 will and associated estate inventory are on file in Harrison County, West Virginia. One record has stated that he was buried at (*)"Jug Handle Mill". He married Johannah Wells. He was a Revolutionary soldier with New Jersey service. Pa. By U.S. Bureau of the Census. Washington, 1908. (426p.):250 - - - He was listed as being in Harrison County, WV, in 1810, with 5 sons and 2 daughters (household of 9). In 1820: 6 young males and 3 young females (8 total white family members). There was a second (separate) listing for Holdridge Chidester; household of one. In 1830, "Eastern District, Harrison, Virginia, Free White Persons - Males - 70 thru 79: one."
An (**)1842 deed in Harrison County lists his (male HEIRS with added notes) as: William, Samuel (1789-1855), George (b. 1795-1800), Holdridge Jr., Phineas (1802-1877), Isaac, and Abraham Chidester (1798-1868); and his (female HEIRS with added notes) as: Margaret (m. 2 Sep 1812 El Nathon Bond in Harrison County), Ann (m. 5 Nov 1804, Harrison Co., WV to James Wells), Mary, Prudence -CHIDESTER. This deed was a land transfer to his daughter, Jane (Chidester) Martin. Not listed (by this name) in the 1842 deed was Massey Chidester w/o (1802) Abraham Wells.
