Baptized March 30, 1729 in New Milford, Litchfield, Connecticut at Congregational Church. Moved to Morris County, New Jersey. Was executor of his mother's estate in Roxbury, Morris County, New Jersey in 1761. Moved to Sussex County, New Jersey and is shown on the Tax List for Oxford Township, Sussex County, New Jersey in July 1773 assessment. On May 7, 1779 was an executor of Obadiah Ayer's will in Hardwick, NJ. In 1785 he went to Hackettstown and was a trustee on the board of the Presbyterian Church for building a parsonage. He is listed in a congregation list for the Presbyterian Church on October 1, 1785 along with his sons Silas and Ephraim. In 1792 he was living on a farm 4 miles west of Hackettstown, NJ. On April 21, 1793 he witnessed the will of the wife of John Bloom of Mansfield Township, NJ. On May 20, 1809 Samuel of Union, NJ sale to John Seymour of Union.
