Homer William Kring was born May 17, 1858, in Nappanee, Indiana, the son of George and Eyva (Joseph) Kring, of Plymouth, Indiana. Like his father and grandfather, Homer made his living as a farmer. Being a God fearing man, he was a member of The Church of The Brethren/Dunkard.

On May 18. 1936, in his home, surrounded by love ones, Homer passed away. After a short illness. He was buried in Hepton Cemetery, Nappanee.
