    Hon. John Butler was the son of James Butler, 2nd/12th Baron Dunboyne and Margaret FitzPatrick.1 He married Joan FitzPatrick, daughter of Florence FitzPatrick, 3rd Baron of Upper Ossory and Catherine O'More.2 He died on 7 January 1602, slain by Richard Grace.1
