The Book of Wallace (p. 28) states that Hugh was designated as of Kilbirnie and that he had two daughters who were older than Katherine/Catherine.
These data are supported by the Peerage of Scotland (p. 284), which also states that his second wife, Elizabeth, daughter of David Barclay of Ladyland, was the mother of Catherine. However, it also states that Catherine was married to David Brodie of Castletown, not William Wallace. Did Catherine marry twice, or is this connection incorrect??
