Biography

in 1744, Ichabod signed a receipt for his share of his father's estate from his brother Gershom Samson.[1]

Ichabod Samson served in the Revolutionary War for 3 short periods: 1. He had the rank of Sargent in the 4th Plymouth Co. Regt. under Captain David Nye. He answered an alarm to defend the Elizabeth Islands on 7 Dec 1776. This service lasted 3 days. 2. On 10 DEC 1776, he marched on the alarm to defend Rhode Island. This service lasted 11 days. 3. Entered service 30 JUL 1780. He was discharged 8 AUG 1780. This service was in response to an alarm to defend Rhode Island. This service was documented and accepted by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Office of Secretary in Boston, Mass 3 DEC 1903 in the application of Edwin F.
