WALTERS Funeral for Imogene Mihecoby, 78, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Comanche Nation Community Center, Walters, with the Rev. Videll Yackeschi, Mike Wauqua and Edward Eschiti officiating.

Imogene departed this life Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, in Lawton.

Burial will be in Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Community Center.

Imogene Poemoceah Mihecoby was born March 6, 1932, to Henry and Lizzie Nahquaddy Poemoceah, at Lawton Indian Hospital. Imogene grew up near Cutty Bridge, west of Walters. She married Wesley Mihecoby on Jan. 9, 1951, at Emerson Nazarene Church, west of Walters. They made their home in the Walters area until moving to Andrews, Texas, in 1963, where Wesley was employed for many years as a unit operator in the oilfield. They returned home to Walters in 1997. Imogene enjoyed playing basketball during her school years, was a seamstress, quilter, and homemaker. She also enjoyed going to the Comanche Homecoming, visiting with family and friends, as well as, going to the casino.

Survivors include four sons and their wives: Dean and Shirley Pahcheka, of Cache; Wesley and Rhysa Mihecoby, and Kelly and Kathy Mihecoby, all of Midland, Texas; and Sidney and Tanisha Mihecoby, Wichita, Kan.; four daughters and their husbands: Lawannah Saldana, of Oklahoma City; Rejina and Roger Stewart, of Walters; Delisa Mihecoby and Leroy Glasgow, of Lawton; and ReneÈ and Lance Parker, Andrews, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley, in November 2007; her daughter, Lagatha Jean Sutherland; two brothers: Alfred and Elmer Poemoceah; and two sisters: Ioleta Tahhahwah and Velma Valdez.
