Issac Pounds served in a company commanded by Captain James McCune, 134th Regiment, (Hosack's) Pennsylvania Militia. His service commenced 24 July 1813 and ended 12 August 1813 (20 days). He also served 1 month and 12 days in Capt. McCune's Company, same regiment, from 1 Jan. 1814 to 11 Feb. 1814
Isaac lived in Piscataway, NJ until his mid-thirties. After the death of his father he inherited about 40 acres of land and a sawmill and was also apprenticed to learn a trade. Isaac was granted an ear mark on Nov. 20, 1776 by the Piscataway town clerk. He is listed as a taxpayer in Piscataway from 1780 to 1784, when he moved with his family to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his family there after 1786, when he was listed in New Jersey as a witness to the will of Robert Webster. By 1810 he had moved west to Slippery Rock, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he spent the rest of life. He died in Slippery Rock between 1820 and 1830. His wife survived him. When he moved to Pennsylvania he changed his name to Pounds and all his descendants carry that name.
