OBITUARY : MRS. ISABELLE E. (TOMS) HENICLE, 89, of 11358 Eigenbrode Lane, Waynesboro, PA, died at 5:45 A.M., Friday, May 15, 2009 in Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA. She had been critically ill since Saturday, May 9, 2009.

Born June 8, 1919 in the Marsh area of Washington Township, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ray R. and Etta Elizabeth (Oberholzer) Toms. She was a life long resident of the Waynesboro area.

Mrs. Henicle was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1938.

She and her husband, the late Mr. Fred E. Henicle, were married May 27, 1940. He died May 20, 1977.

Mrs. Henicle was employed for Shaffer's Confectionary Store, Waynesboro, Stanley Company, Chambersburg and also was employed as a mail carrier for Waynesboro Post Office.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 Ladies Auxiliary and Mount Vernon Chapter #398 Order of Eastern Star, all of Waynesboro. She also volunteered at Waynesboro Hospital.

Mrs. Henicle is survived by two sons, Ralph A. Henicle and his wife Diane of Chambersburg and Mark E. Henicle and his wife Barbara of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Christine K. Knaub and Robert A. Henicle, both of Greencastle, PA; four great-grandsons, Robert A. Henicle, Jr., Alexander M. Henicle, Brady A. Henicle and Zachary Knaub; five sisters, Gladys M. Toms of Marion, PA, Marie Wishard of Waynesboro, Catherine Fahrney of Fayetteville, PA, Martha Barnhart of Chambersburg and Mary Hissong of St. Thomas, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Daugherty, Ruth E. Ressler and Janet Decker; and six brothers, Howard Toms, J. Russell Toms, Paul E. Toms, Ray R. Toms, Jr., Richard Toms and Charles Toms.

Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, May 18, 2009 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with the Rev. Henry K. Johnson officaiting. Burial will follow in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday in the funeral home.
