Isobel MacBean

CAVEAT: The details here are not correct and this and connected profiles need serious editing, corrections and/or even deletion. MacBean history and records of the time confirm that:

• Isobel Baillie who married a MacBean of Kinchyle was NOT the daughter of Sir William Bailie 9th of Lamington. The history of the Baillies of Lamington makes no mention of Isobel, and no authoritative history of Clan MacBean and Clan Chattan claims Sir William as her father. She is more likely to be related to the Baillies of Inverness. The Lamington family didn't live in the area.
• There was no man who was chief called 'Angus Gilliphadrick MacBean' - this is a made up name. The two first names are a metaphorical and much mistaken mail-merge of the names of two completely different men.
• The MacBeans of Faillie in Strathdearn were a separate branch to the MacBeans of Kinchyle - this latter family was the family of the Chiefs. NOTE: All such errors in entries lead to huge confusion in genealogies across the internet.
