Lebanon Reporter - May 21, 1975, page 10 Rites Set Thursday for Iva Martin, 78

Last rites are set at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Russell and Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon for Mrs. Iva Marie Martin, 78, of 1334 South Meridian Street

Rev. Louis Gibson will be the officiating minister. Burial is to be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning 4 p.m. today.

Mrs. Martin, a resident of Lebanon the past 65 years, died Tuesday at the English Nursing Home. She had been in poor health eight years and in the nursing home four weeks.

Mrs. Martin attended schools near Delphi and worked eight years for the Progress Laundry in Indianapolis. Since residing in Lebanon she had done considerable babysitting and domestic work.

She was a native of Flora, born November 8, 1896, the daughter of Joseph and Lucinda (Chaney) Doty. Her first marriage was in 1912 to Leroy William Likens, who died January 16, 1933. In 1935 she was married to Ernest Martin, who passed away November 9, 1955.

Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Jessie Abbott of Lebanon; three sons Leroy Likens of Indianapolis, James Likes of Frankfort and Lester Likens of Dallas, Tex.; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. A son William Herbert, a half-brother and two grandchildren are deceased.
