  Joseph Bambenek, a Pole about 54 years of age, met with a very serious accident at the Stockton quarries on Tuesday. He was employed on a working train, engaged in filling in the cuts. While going from the quarry to the cut a portion of the train became detached. Bambenek was sitting on the side of a gravel car of the detached portion, and as the two sections came together with considerable force he was thrown off, and the cars passed over his right leg and right arm. He was brought to his home in the Fourth ward, where, last evening, his arm was amputated above the elbow and his leg just below the knee. The unfortunate man was as comfortable as could be expected this morning.
