Last Will and Testament of Jacob D. BowmanIn the name of Almighty God I make this my last will and testament since it has pleased him to bless me with considerable of this world's goods and thinking that my days are few on earth. I therefore desire to have my real and personal property used in the following manner - first, my two sons Peter J. and Jacob shall have all that now belongs to me except what is in the house that shall be for my dear wife Polly. She can do with it what she sees best.Second. They must pay to her that is their (mother) one hundred & twenty dollars a year as long as she lives also give her one cow providing she desires to have one; find feed pasture room in the cellar and room in the springhouse; also room in the house to live in.Third for which they my two sons Peter J. and Jacob must pay all my debts and pay to my daughter Catherine Stanton and my Grand Child Mary A. Shaffer three hundred dollars that is the two together. Should my Grand Child Mary A. Shaffer not be of age at that time my daughter Catherine Stanton is to have the three hundred herself and my Grand Child Mary A. Shaffer must wait untill she is twenty-one years old, they shall each receive fifteen hundred dollars as their share of inheritance, this paying to my daughter and Grand Child to take place not untill after one year has expired after our death that is my and my wifes death, then yearly.Fourth they shall pay three hundred dollars a year on my debts till all is paid this paying to begin after my death.Fifth should my Grand Child Mary A. Shaffer die without heirs her share of inheritance must go back to my three children Peter J., Jacob Bowman and Catherine Stanton.I Jacob D. Shaffer from infancy until the present time or up to the time of his death about 27th of November 1876.
