From the Knopflmacher Stammbaum: Rabbi Jacob [Yaakov] Knopflmacher, b. in Holesov, c.1700, called “the master”, “head of state in Mehrin” [chief rabbi of the state], “the honorable governor”…. He was deceased by 1739 when a grandson was named in his honor. He married Sorel [Sherl] [Sarl] Shpitz, daughter of Rabbi Zalman Schpitz and wife, Malka (Bachrach) – a direct descendant of the MaHaRal of Prague (Jehuda Loew). They had a son Wolf and two known daughters, Nissel and Malka. There were possibly other children.
