About Jacob Simcock

Jacob Simcock was born 6 January 1658 in Cheshire, England. He was a Quaker preacher, following in his dad's footsteps, and after arriving in America with his parents he became the County coroner. On November 15, 1683 he married Alice Maris, daughter of George and Alice Maris, at Christ Church in Philadelphia. Richard Nixon is the descended from the Maris family. He was appointed Deputy Register General under James Claypool in 1686 and for a short time resided in Philadelphia. Jacob has six children and one, Benjamin married Elizabeth Boone whose nephew was Daniel Boone. Jacob died in 1716 and his wife survived him 10 years. The children of Jacob and Alice were John, Jacob, Mary, Benjamin, Hannah, and Alice.
