Immigration: 1859 on the Amelia.
Jacob immigrated to Quebec, Canada abroad the ship Amelia in 1859 (or possibly as early as 1855). He was one of the first permanent Polish settlers in the Polonia, Wisconsin area and the Portage County. This information is supported by at least two different publications on first Polish pioneers in Wisconsin like: Waclaw Kruszka "A History of the Poles in America to 1908", and the History of Catholic Church.
At times his birth is given as 1829. He is identified with the people who first established the first Polish church in Wisconsin, the Sacred Heart of Jesus congregation in Polonia, Wisconsin.
Jacob was the husband of Paulina Dzwonkowski. They were married in about 1860 and had nine children together.
He was also married to Marianna Rzepinska. They had five children together.
He worked as a prominent farmer and a one time prosperous businessman in the Amherst Junction area.
