FCVA Order Book 1800-1805, p. 161, Sept, 1802 James Bird, having raised a riot in the courtyard and being brought before the court for the same by the Sheriff, it is ordered that he give security for keeping the peace and for his good behavior for one year from this time. Whereupon the said James Bird and William Bozwell and William H. Shelton, his securities, came into court. (Note: Isham Hodges was also fined a reduced charge for the same offense. His securities were William Burwell and Samuel Cockran.

Charles Beasley was the son of James Beasley of Orange Co., VA. Also, in 1794, the Franklin Co. Court ordered that Josiah Woods, John Martin, James Bird and William Logan do view the nearest and best way from William Ryans to the road by the name of Martin's Road. Also, (FCVA Order Book 1793-1799 p. 54)...(FCVA Order Book April 1788, p. 224, Beasley v. One certain tract, 143 acres lying on the Waters of Chestnut Creek bounded, in Fishburn's line, Callaway's line. If James Bird should fail to pay said Shrewsberry the money due before May 17, 1809, then it shall be lawful for Robert Woods and Josiah Woods to advertise at the front door of the court house to proceed to sell to the highest bidder for ready money by way of public auction.
