About Fanny Byrd
Marriage information:
Henry County VA Marriage Bonds by V. A. Dodd Feb 17, 1778 Woods, George and Fanny Mason, dau. of Robert Mason
Franklin County VA Marriage Bonds by Wingfield: James Bird and Fanny Mason; Robt. Mason, Surety. Sept. 3, 1787.
Note: Robert Mason may have had 2 daughters named Frances, by different wives? __________________________
1778-1780 Henry Co. VA Tax Lists by Lela C. Adams 1780 George Woods (grouped with Robert, John and Hugh Woods) Note: George Woods does not appear in the 1782 Personal Property Tax Lists of Henry Co., VA. __________________________
I believe that both are the same person, and that the first marriage never commenced, or else she probably did not have any surviving Woods children, because she would have been referred to as "Fanny Woods" in the second marriage.
The fact that Fanny Bird did not have children past 1802, logically puts her at about age 40 at the time, which is about right for her age.
There were no other Masons in the area which would account for Fanny Mason Bird's parentage, other than Robert Mason...* Reference: RootsWeb's WorldConnect - SmartCopy: Nov 30 2016, 0:50:08 UTC
