About James Chipman

Descendant of Mayflower passenger Richard Warren

Warning

It is likely that James Chipman of New York and New England has been confused with another James Chipman, of Delaware. Children born to him have been reported to have died in Delaware but, at least in the case of James Jr., another James clearly is being referenced. We have separated the two families. In the process, it seems clear that some of the children so confused, e.g. Benjamin, were in fact confusions with children of James's brother Perez, who did apparently go to Delaware early on.

This contradicts the Howland book cited below, but that cannot be helped; if an error was made, it was made a long while ago.
