Fluke services to be Saturday
Funeral services for James B. Fluke, 78, who died suddenly early Thursday morning in Freetown, have been set for Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Cure and Hensley Chapel. The Rev. Robert Potter will be in charge.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
In failing health for several years, Mr. Fluke was found dead on the floor beside his bed at the home of his sister, Mrs. Artie Glass, of Freetown. He had lived with his sister for the past two years, going there from the home of his son, James O. Fluke, of R. R. 4.
He was born Feb. 21, 1881, in Scott County, Ky., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Fluke. A retired farmer, he came from Anderson to Morgan County in 1919 and had lived near Martinsville until two years ago.
In 1898, he was married to Sue Gano Burton who died Jan. 27, 1934. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Methodist Church.
Survivors, beside the sister and the son, James, are two other sons, Carl Fluke of R. R. 1 and John J. Fluke of Gosport; two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Wihebrink of Anderson and Mrs. Lydia Winebrenner of Miami, Fla.; 31 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. One daughter, three sisters and one brother are deceased.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
